Frida Kahlo is one of my favorite painters.  She also is a continuous source of inspiration and strength to myself and many people around the world.  I saw a self portrait of her in a museum, and was brought to tears.  Her honesty about her hospitalizations and challenges that she faced is powerful and moving in her work.  She also loved animals.  This love of animals is reflected in many paintings where animals were the primary focus.  With this enamel pin set of Frida & her pet Monkey- it is paying homage to the self-portrait, "Fulang-Chang and I."
